There are 57 days to go until Round 3 of the Australian Stock Car Championship is held at Winton Raceway (August 29-30).

Before that, the SCA AUSCAR field is going to Winton to participate in the 2026 edition of the Winton Festival of Speed from July 23 to 26 2026 along with other AUSCAR and Sportsman owners as well as many other racing categories.

SCA President Troy Perichon worked hard on getting as many of the SCA AUSCAR field as possible as well as those who own either an AUSCAR or a Sportsman.

Troy will be driving his #6 Ford Falcon; this car is an AUSCAR, Sportsman and SCA race winner, it had its start with Jim Richards and then had great success with Eddie Abelnica in Sportsman competition.

Duncan Brown will be driving the #02 Ford Falcon; this car was the ex-Tony Howlett Sportsman that was later owned by Brad Hall.

Jamey Hollier will be driving his #71 Ford Falcon at the event; Jamey is the defending SCA AUSCAR champion and this car was previously driven by Rodney Jane before it served as a track car at One Raceway.

Brad Hall will be driving the #09 Ford Falcon; it is one of two Sportsman vehicles that will be on the track for the special weekend.

Eddie Woods will be driving the #55 Holden Commodore; this car has been eagerly awaited since its restoration was announced and hopefully, we will see it regularly in the future.

Lukas Gates will be at Winton in the #22 Holden Commodore, it is always good to see this car in action and if it does rain at Winton, it will do very well there just like Lukas had done in those miserable Calder Park conditions last November.

Brad Lighton will be driving his well-presented #26 Holden Commodore; the car made a statement in the past and it continues to make one in the present.

Brendan O’Connor will also be there; he drives either the #10 Ford Falcon or the #10 Chevrolet Silverado in Stock Cars Australia and will be driving the Falcon at Winton.

Did you miss out on watching the action from Round 2? AASA has Race 1 on their YouTube channel.

They’ve also got Race 2 and you’ll find the other two races on the Livestream page though you may have to do a little searching as one race is mislabelled.

You may have seen Richard White Racing’s videos on social media, now you can see some of those videos on YouTube just like the one above.

Information Most Wanted

We are looking for whereabouts of cars and finding out parts of histories on a couple of cars, we’ve had some success in finding cars that have

In 2023, the above #2 Chevrolet that was raced in ARCA was spotted in South Australia and Victoria, it has not been mentioned since, where did it go?

The car was driven in ARCA by Dustin Hapka in 2012 for Wayne Hixson; he drove it at Elko Speedway and Kansas Speedway for 18th and 32nd place finishes.

Last reports suggested that the car was being auctioned, hopefully it is still in the country.

Do you know the fate of this Ford Thunderbird? It is an ex-Charlie O’Brien car (it is not the #41 Ford Thunderbird) that was driven by Pete Nolan in 1999, it was last known to have been owned by a Rodney Brewer and was the #6, the number was styled just like Mark Martin’s was at the time but it did not have a Valvoline livery.

On the subject of a Ford Thunderbird, if there is anybody in contact with Martin Borrows, we would like to find out what happened to his Ford Thunderbirds, we are hoping that they are still around somewhere as the Thunderbirds are in small numbers and the more that we find, the better.

Does anybody know where the #88 Ford Fusion has gone? It has been a couple of years since it was last mentioned.

Does anybody know who ordered two Commodores for the 2000/01 season, a season that did not happen which resulted in the two cars remaining in the USA? The above car is one of the two.

Now that we firmly believe that the #8/#27 ride car turned #3 Lumina was originally an ex-#31 Race Cars & Engines Oldsmobile that was then used by NASTRAK/George Elliot, we are hoping to find out if the car that was leased out to Ron Goodman in 1992 is the same car, it is also theorised that Walter Giles used it when he went between Buick and Chevrolet Lumina eras.

That’s it for this edition of Aussie Stock Car News, thank you for coming.

See you next week.
