There are 22 days to go until racing is underway in Round 2 of the Australian Stock Car Championship, the round will be held at The Bend, and it is the second time that Stock Cars Australia will be in South Australia.
It is a VMRC round and so the link to go to for putting in entries and finding out information etc. is right here.
On the bill for the round are the Vic Super Tin Tops, Vic V8s, Hyundai Excel Racing Victoria Trophy & Masters, The Australian Superkart Grand Prix and Holden HQ Racing.

Today was a big day, Eddie Ivermee put the #23 Oldsmobile through its paces for the first time at Calder Park Raceway.

Calder Park correspondent Brad Hall was on the scene for the test and tune session that also served as a session for Eddie to dot the i’s and cross the t’s with the OLT.
Eddie reports that the car was fantastic, it handled awesome, the brakes felt awesome, but the car did have a bit of a tuning issue (carby needed adjustment).
There was a problem with the engine and clutch in the third run which meant that Eddie had to finish his OLT in the Drive Events Falcon, the engine and clutch will be examined to determine what’s going on with them.
Check out these fantastic Round 1 images by Pakin Imagery, Emerson Hannaford said that ‘Seeing stock cars in Sydney was a real treat!’ and Emerson is keen to get down to One Raceway and catch more action.
Over in Tasmania, Charlie Williscroft is racing in Tassie Tin Tops in the #43 Camaro, while this car may be unfamiliar to some, parts of the car used to be on the #43 Pontiac that Corey Gurney drove for a number of years.
The ex-Gurney car had suffered massive damage in 2024 at Symmonds Plains.

This week we were given a bunch of magazines to browse through, most of them were sports cars and rotary magazines but we did find something pretty interesting, the 2002 Power Tour programme for Mallala.

Zac got the above through the help of many people; the items are a 1989-1995 Thunderbird rear bar mould (he already has a 1994-98 T bird nose mould) and a 1989-93 Thunderbird nose.
The process all started when Dick Howe and Calder Park manager Rowan Harman were talking and Rowan passed Zac’s phone number to Dick and Dick sold the items to Zac, but the story didn’t end there as the items had to go through a couple of people to get to Zac.
Zac thanks Rowan for passing the info on to him, He also thanks Dick Howe for selling him the nose and rear bar mould, Zac thanks Luke Cosgriff for picking the items up for him and lastly Zac thanks Richard for bringing them to Sydney.
Tickets are now on sale for the 2026 Winton Festival of Speed, SCA AUSCAR entrants will be at the event along with some more AUSCARs plus other motorsport favourites.

Information Most Wanted
We are looking for parts of histories on a couple of cars, the problem we have is that while people have given us answers, the answers do differ and so we seek written, verbal or visual proof to sort the histories out.

Do you know the fate of this Ford Thunderbird? It is an ex-Charlie O’Brien car (it is not the #41 Ford Thunderbird) that was driven by Pete Nolan in 1999, it was last known to have been owned by a Rodney Brewer.
On the subject of a Ford Thunderbird, if there is anybody in contact with Martin Borrows, we would like to find out what happened to his Ford Thunderbirds, we are hoping that they are still around somewhere as the Thunderbirds are in small numbers and the more that we find, the better.

Does anybody know who ordered two Commodores for the 2000/01 season, a season that did not happen which resulted in the two cars remaining in the USA?

Now that we firmly believe that the #8/#27 ride car turned #3 Lumina was originally an ex-#31 Race Cars & Engines Oldsmobile that was then used by NASTRAK/George Elliot, we are hoping to find out if the car that was leased out to Ron Goodman in 1992 is the same car, it is also theorised that Walter Giles used it when he went between Buick and Chevrolet Lumina eras.
That’s it for this edition of Aussie Stock Car News, thank you for coming.
See you next week.
