There are 28 days to go until the action starts at Winton, entries can now be put in for the round.

If you are thinking of attending as a spectator, it is free to watch the Friday practice sessions, it will cost $15 if you just want to go on Saturday, it will cost you $20 if you just want to go on Sunday and it is $30 for a weekend ticket and U/16’s are free.

Online purchases of tickets will be available soon from the same page so do keep an eye out if you’re intending on going and want to order tickets the hi-tech way.

The Adelaide Motorsport Festival is on the same weekend as Round 1 and Richard White Racing will be there with the #3 Lumina and the #8 Monte Carlo, as you can see the two cars were on the AMF’s FB page promoting the Stock Cars, Adelaide is going to love them.

There’s video of the 2025 Tough Streeters Festival at Calder Park from last weekend, viewers will see that there is now a ‘Bob Jane Room’ and the place has been partially repainted since we last visited at the end of September last year.

It is said that 15,000 people turned up to Calder Park and this was way more than the amount they had anticipated, and it caused some issues but it is good that so many people went to Calder Park and enjoyed themselves.

It is fun to watch videos of or read about events that were held at Calder Park and notice the little changes while counting down the days until we can go there again.

This week has seen Eddie Ivermee’s search for the origins of the #46 expand further, as you can see on this wheel hub, M #2 LH is etched on it, what does ‘M#2’ mean? was it done in Australia or America?

Americans have taken a look at the car but as of this time of writing, nobody has anything that can point us in the direction of a team.

While the number ‘1542’ is stamped on the chassis, it does not say LRP, BP or HP which is peculiar.

It has been suggested that it may be an Allison chassis, searches for an Allison chassis have yielded no results at this present time.

This is the version of the #23 Ian Thomas car that we believe became the #46 that John Faulkner had and what Eddie has now, it raced at the Thunderdome to open the 1992/93 season, this race was a 2 x 50 lap event and Ian Thomas was the winner of the first half before Allan Grice won the second half and was therefore the overall winner of the event.

Hopefully somebody like Keith Leggate or other TCR crew from the time who have not been approached (or know that they have been) will see our search and will be able to help us and Eddie Ivermee figure it out.

If anybody has any programmes from 1992/93, please look out for any mentions of Ian Thomas Oldsmobile cars that are not ex-Morgan McClure.

We haven’t forgotten about our other mystery car, the #3 Lumina, somebody must have a photo of a NASTRAK Oldsmobile or a very strange looking Lumina pre-1992.

We’re so close to finding out everything about these two cars yet that last little bit seems so far away but we will keep on chasing that last little bit.

The last item for today is that I now have an ASCN drink holder, well five of them to choose from to be exact, at $3.50 apiece, it was worth spending some money on them and almost the same amount on postage to see what it looked like.

That’s it for this week, hopefully next week we’ll see the first batch of entries come in and start setting up the season preview as we’ll be down to three weeks to go.

See you next week.

Hi Ryan. We’ve been busy in other life distractions of late ,so no progress on the vk40/.vl 05 as yet. You probably have this info already, but I’ll resend it anyhow. Cheers. Rob.

    1. Life can get pretty busy but that can be a great thing depending on the activity, the #46 Olds is starting to become as troublesome as the #3 Lumina in figuring out its history.

AUSCAR history is way easier, cars weren’t passed around frequently, and great records were kept.

I checked out the pages you sent, no luck there but will keep searching the internet and hope for the best, it will probably be some tiny, easily missed detail.
