Oldsmobile will make its Australian Stock Cars return when Round 3 of the 2026 Australian Stock Car Championship Season takes place at Winton Motor Raceway on August 29 and 30.

Eddie Ivermee will be behind the wheel of his #23 Oldsmobile; fans will now be seeing Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford and Oldsmobile in Stock Car competition with Toyota, Holden and Pontiac to either come back or make their debut in the series in the near future.

The car known as ‘Intrepid’ started its Australian journey with Ian Thomas before it went to John Faulkner who in turn later sold it to Eddie Abelnica who then sold it to Paul Stocker and then Paul Stocker put Doug Moss behind the wheel of the car to finish the rest of the V8 Stock Cars season.

The car went on to power its way across the salt flats with numerous drivers like Donald Hudson before being a project car that needed somebody to finish it.

Eddie then brought the car in 2024 and completed the task of restoring it and earlier this year he gave the car a run at Calder Park Raceway.

The car was recently put on a dyno at Vogels Motors down in Simpson, Victoria and adjustments were made to improve the setup.

Now the car is ready and has support from Colac to Coast Real Estate, Colac Tyres and Repco Colac.

Aussie Stock Car News was gifted space on the bonnet and Tropic Coast Developments is on the car in honour of the past history of the car.

It is hoped that the building of and the racing of this car will inspire those with garaged cars to restore their cars and join in the action, there has never been a better time to be part of it all.

See the #23 Oldsmobile at Winton Motor Raceway plus other Stock Cars as well as cars in SCA AUSCAR, OzTrucks and Invited all for free on August 29 and 30 2026.
