Happy Easter to all readers.
There are 22 days to go until the first round of the 2026 season gets underway at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Entries for the round are open after the AASA switched to a new system, the new system requires you to do some logging in and if you have any trouble getting an account going etc., contact Zac or Mel and they will help you get things sorted.
Formula Ford, AASA Tin Tops, Formula RX8 and Legend Cars are also on the bill for April 25-26 round.
It is free for spectators to attend so if you would like to see Stock Cars Australia in action and you live close to Sydney Motorsport Park, April 25-26 is a good time to check them out, further details can be found here.
Preparations for the 2026 season are in full swing, visitors to this website will see that the 2026 section is bigger than ever complete with a guide that will help newcomers and commentators know who has what car or truck.

One driver ready to go for Sydney Motorsport Park is Mick Heppleston, his #304 Chevrolet Silverado has been repaired after sustaining damage at Calder Park Raceway last November and it is ready to go.

Last weekend was a big weekend for Stock Car racing in Australia, we unveiled the #23 Oldsmobile Cutlass that Eddie Ivermee will be racing in rounds of the 2026 Australian Stock Car Championship.

The unveiling of the car was a massive success; it was far more successful than we had hoped for, and we are very pleased that people enjoyed the story from its early history to Eddie getting the car ready for this season.
Eddie’s second Stock Car, the ex-Ron Bouchard #47 Buick (currently just a chassis) was subject of a V8 Sleuth story today, the car could have been destroyed during early Thunderdome testing when the late Garry Rogers put it in the wall, thankfully the chassis survived and it was given a Pontiac body.
Garry Rogers wasn’t the only legend to put a car into the wall in those pre-February 1988 days, John Bowe had a mishap too.

Richard White Racing’s new ride for the 2026 season was officially revealed; it is the #3 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, it was also announced that Brooke Marangos Media is in partnership with RWR.
The #3 Chevrolet Camaro also got the attention of Speedcafe who had conducted an interview with Richard.

In additional RWR news, the #3 Chevrolet Lumina seat has been filled for Sydney Motorsport Park, the driver is none other than Zac O’Hara.
Zac asked for the following message to be posted
“I’d like to thank Richard White for allowing me to drive/lease the #3 Chevrolet Lumina in the opening round. I look forward to pulling the helmet back on and I’m quietly nervous. I haven’t raced since the last round of 2024 in the #41 Ford Thunderbird then owned by Mick Heppleston, now Phil Muffet.
I’m probably going to be a bit rusty, but I can assure you that I’ll have the biggest smile out there. Just being on track with everyone again will be great. As for results, the only one is to return the car in the same condition I received it.“

A reminder to AUSCAR and Sportsman owners that if you are interested in participating in the 2026 edition of the Winton Festival of Speed which will be held on July 24 to July 26, please contact Troy Perichon, President of SCA AUSCAR for further information.
The Winton Festival of Speed is perfectly placed for SCA AUSCAR as it almost right in the middle between Round 3 at One Raceway (June 20-21) and Round 4 at Winton (August 29-30).

Parts For Sale
Do you need a wheel for your Holden AUSCAR? Brad Hall is selling them for $210 each.
For Sale

The #8 Monte Carlo is for sale, this car was built in 1999 for Joe Bessey and was run in Winston Cup competition, it was driven by Geoff Bodine and other drivers in 1999 and 2000, it went on to be raced in SCCA competition and then it was brought to Australia by Graham Booth and it has been around SCA since the very beginning.

Don’t worry fans, Richard White Racing isn’t going anywhere, they’ve got plenty of Stock Car racing left in them for the future with a very interesting project ahead, one that will be greatly helped by a sale.
You can buy the car as it is, you can buy the car with a fresh engine, or you can buy the car and have Richard White Racing prepare it for the 2026 season.
Check out the above video to see the car in action at Calder Park Raceway in November 2025, the #8 Monte Carlo had won one of the four races that weekend.
If you’re interested, check out the link above that has all the details and then contact Richard.
If you’re looking for something in the style of the early decades of NASCAR, there is a Ford Galaxie for sale for $25,000, it is a 1969 Ford Galaxie body with a 1989 Randercar chassis with a McGunegill built 347 ci windsor engine, find out more here.
If those two don’t get your interest, how about a HQ Holden or two? there’s the #20 HQ Holden complete with the Vin ‘A 625’ or there is Cameron Fisher’s #39 HQ Holden for $20,000.
There’s also the #66 Truck for sale, it is awaiting a new owner and it’s a Ford too which is something unique when it comes to Trucks that are in Australia.
If you have a Stock Car, an AUSCAR, a Sportsman or a HQ for sale, drop us a line any time and we’ll advertise it for free, it can be a complete, turn key car, a car missing some parts or even if it is just a roller, we’re also happy to advertise the sale of parts and promote offers for working on cars.
You may just have the car, the parts or the skills that somebody really needs.
Additionally, if you want to buy a car, tell us what you want, what condition you want it (complete or roller) in and your price range and we will post it for you.
Information Most Wanted
We are looking for parts of histories on a couple of cars, the problem we have is that while people have given us answers, the answers do differ and so we seek written, verbal or visual proof to sort the histories out.

Paul Scicluna is looking for information on his #12 Pontiac Grand Prix.
This Pontiac raced at the Grand Prix round in 1999, it finished 23rd, 10th and 16th for the weekend.
The information we have received is that the car came from Les Kennewell and he got it from Robert Tinworth.
Determining which car from the Tinworth team is not as straight forward as Robert Tinworth said ‘l had 5 of them’ when asked about his cars in 2020.

An advertisement in January 1997 offered four Pontiacs for sale, two front steer cars with 23-degree engines and two rear steer cars that were to be sold as rollers.
One car that gets mentioned a lot is the ex-Kyle Petty Pontiac that was later the Harrington Commodore and then the Tinworth Pontiac, we’ve read somewhere it was sold a few years ago which if true would not be the car we seek as Paul has had his car since before 2000.
So, if you know the answer, please let us know.

Now that we firmly believe that the #8/#27 ride car turned #3 Lumina was originally an ex-#31 Race Cars & Engines Oldsmobile that was then used by NASTRAK/George Elliot, we are hoping to find out if the car that was leased out to Ron Goodman in 1992 is the same car, it is also theorised that Walter Giles used it when he went between Buick and Chevrolet Lumina eras.
That’s it for this edition of Aussie Stock Car News, thank you for coming.
See you next week.
