There was a smaller Stock Car and Truck presence at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival this year, but spectators were treated to cars and trucks with great histories and plenty of speed.

Unfortunately, wet weather slowed the action on the track for the cars and so spectators did not get to have the full experience had it been dry.

This rundown of the cars that attended the AMF would not have been possible without the help of Josh Dale who provided news and images of what was going on in Adelaide.

Here is a video that was made by Paris Charles, you get a good look at the #85 and then a good look at the Stock Cars and Truck on the track.

#85 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

This particular #85 Chevrolet Monte Carlo had success in February 2000 when the Stock Cars went to Western Australia for the only round held there during the Bob Jane era, the #85 and Andrew Miedecke came away with a race win.

While it has been said that this car won the last Calder Park Thunderdome race, the winners of that weekend were Neville Lance (#14 Ford Taurus), Terry Wyhoon (#25 Ford Thunderbird) and Kim Jane (#27 Chevrolet Monte Carlo).

The Miedecke/#85 duo dominated the new V8 Stock Cars series in 2001 by winning two-thirds of the races of that season (12 from 18 including exhibition classed races).

The #85 was on course for similar numbers when it won six races from the first three rounds of the 2002 season before The Power Tour ended abruptly after the round at Queensland Raceway.

The V8 Stock Cars name returned at Winton later that year and Bob Middleton hopped into the #85 and won the first race, Chris Templer would pick up the other two race wins in the #95 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Thankfully after the fall of the Bob Jane era and The Power Tour era, Bob Middleton kept both the #85 and #95 nice and secure and he got the #85 back into action in 2020 edition of The Bend Classic.

The #9 Ford Fusion

The #9 Ford Fusion (chassis RK-761) raced at Sears Point International Raceway (Sonoma) on June 26, 2011, and ended up with a fifth-place finish.

The car had its moment of triumph on August 15, 2011, at Watkins Glen when it started the race third and taken home the victory.

The car was used again on June 23, 2013, where it qualified second and finished seventh at Sears Point International Raceway (Sonoma).

The car was raced again at Watkins Glen on August 11, 2013, the car was qualified on pole, but an accident resulted in the car being credited with a 31st place finish.

The car was turned into a then Nationwide series car, it was given a Mustang body, and it had racked up another win, once again it was Watkins Glen being the track to provide the victory.

The car was purchased and was then restored with the car going back to a Ford Fusion complete with correct parts and was shipped to Australia.

The car appeared at the 2025 edition of the Adelaide Motorsport Festival and one of the drivers was Australian champion driver Barry Graham.

Tabiatha Ambrose was one driver who was selected to drive the car in the 2026 edition, she had earlier tested the car at Queensland Raceway, the other driver listed to drive the car was Jarred Danaher.

#43 Toyota Camry

The #43 Toyota Camry is a unique car; this Camry was built by Andrew Kostecki for Brodie Kostecki to drive in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East series (sometimes combined with the West series) and is now called the ARCA Minards Series East.

After a couple of races in a Chevrolet, the #43 switched to the Toyota Camry, Brodie was successful in the Camry model as he had two poles, and a total of nine Top 10 starts with four Top 10 finishes and a best finish of 5th at Dover.

Brodie raced against the likes of Daniel Suarez, Cole Custer, Ben Rhodes, Justin Haley, Kaz Grala and Austin Hill, Austin Hill has 14 victories in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series driving for RCR.
