Welcome to the second annual ASCN awards, held every December 31st to perfectly round out the year.
2025 was a great year for Stock Car racing in Australia, we saw five great rounds of Australian Stock Car Championship action.
We got to see Jack Perkins drive a Stock Car before America got to do so
We saw Sam Gibson go from practicing on a simulator to hopping into the #3 Chevrolet Lumina on a sunny Friday and was then thrown into the deep end with the rain lashing Calder Park Raceway on Saturday and watched as he went home with two victories by the end of Sunday.
We saw Dave Brien in the Torana and Phil Muffet in the Ford Thunderbird join at Sydney Motorsport Park and stay for the rest of the season, Phil joined the winners list at Calder Park Raceway.
Jeff Stubbs won five races, Jack Perkins won three, Daniel Stubbs won two, Sam Gibson won two and Richard White, Troy Perichon, Scott Nind and Phil Muffet won one each.
On the Track the Most Award

Robert Marchese
Robert Marchese appeared in all races including the non-championship round at Sydney Motorsport Park
Best Presented Stock Car
Scott Nind #34 Ford Mustang/Richard White’s #8 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
We got to see the #34 Ford Mustang in action at The Bend, this car is a true beauty.
Also eye-catching is the #8 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, the Dale Earnhardt Jr. tribute car always gets attention, and it was hard to pick between it and the #34 Ford Mustang
Best Presented OzTruck
Mick Heppleston’s #304 OzTruck

The use of Silver, Black and Orange made the #304 OzTruck look good during the 2025 season, the silver look was from the time the Hourigan’s owned the truck.
Fun Fact: The plate number for the #304 is #AU-304.
Best Presented SCA AUSCAR

It was really hard to pick a car, all of them look really good, they stand out and after a lot of thinking we went for Brad Lighton’s #26 Holden Commodore that is in the same Trust Bank/ComputerLand livery that Jason Wyllie used on the car.
Best Presented Muscle Division Car
#108 Holden VT Commodore of Michael Rice

The black, Fluro and white combination added some colour to the Muscle Division field, most people love a black car but the use of white and Fluro gives it that extra bit of attention.
Drive of the Year – Jeff Stubbs (Race 3 at Calder Park Raceway)

The #45 Dodge Challenger started at the back of the field in Race 3 after giving the wall a whack with the front and rear of the Dodge in Race 2.
What made his drive special was that the cars went on to the dummy grid in dry conditions and started the race in wet conditions as a rain shower soaked the track and the majority of the field had chosen slicks.
Jeff got his Dodge up to second position and held it until the last lap when passed by Sam Gibson and ended up in third position.
Track Battle of the Year Award
Jeff Stubbs vs. Daniel Stubbs at One Raceway.
.241 of a second was the gap between the #45 Dodge Challenger and the #19 Chevrolet Monte Carlo when the chequered flag flew in Race 4 at One Raceway.
Rookie of the Year Award
Phil Muffet – #41 Ford Thunderbird

Phil purchased the ex-Chad Little, Charlie O’Brien and Gene Cook Ford Thunderbird from Mick Heppleston and made his debut in the non-championship round at Sydney Motorsport Park along with fellow rookie Dave Brien.
Phil went on to race at One Raceway and Calder Park Raceway; he won the third race at the Calder Park Raceway.
Special mentions to Dave Brien, Jack Perkins and Sam Gibson, Dave competed in Muscle Division for three rounds of the season, Sam Gibson raced at Calder Park Raceway winning two races and Jack Perkins raced at The Bend for three race wins.
Driver of the Year Award – Jeff Stubbs
Jeff Stubbs won the overall championship after battling Daniel Stubbs for three rounds of the season with Jeff scoring five wins to two (six ahead finishes to five), a mechanical issue for Daniel at Calder Park Raceway ended the championship battle early.
Jeff’s #45 Dodge Challenger was also driven by Daniel for the final race of the season at Calder Park for a third-place finish showing that the Stubbs have plenty of options now and into the future.
Conclusion of ASCN Awards
That concludes this year’s awards, hopefully you have enjoyed the experience and look forward to December 31, 2026, when the next one comes along.
