There are 72 days to go until Round 3 is held at Sydney Motorsport Park, this round is a one-day event, so everybody pops in and then heads on out the same day.
Last week was a big week, Stock Cars Australia went to The Bend for the first time, it was a successful weekend for Jack Perkins with three wins, but the weekend was even more successful for Daniel Stubbs who won the round with four top four finishes.
It may not be the last we see of Jack Perkins at least for this year, Jack in a detailed article on V8 Sleuth did go into detail about the rest of the 2025 season including the fact that he lives close to Calder Park.
It has likely been mentioned to him that SCA has been given the chance to play on the Thunderdome the last two years, perhaps a third year will be granted, and he’ll get to have some fun on the bumpy yet fast oval (speeds of 215kph are possible on the track).

Here is the lower control arm of the #46 Oldsmobile, what is interesting about it is ‘LRP 1004 + 1/4’ that is stamped on it, the question is who put it on there.
Did the original builder put it on there? Did TCR put it on there? Did JFR? All seen examples of a LRP stamp doesn’t have a fraction on it too.

We’re still looking for a consensus on where this car came from, somebody must know for sure where Ian Thomas picked up this car from in America, was it a Doug Taylor original as some say? Did Ian buy it from somebody, and Doug reconditioned it? There are so many thoughts from those involved so that is why it is hard to get a consensus.

Also found inside the car was ‘LHR Dec 94’, that was from the time John Faulkner owned the car, cars are so full of surprises that pop up decades, so make sure owners that you give your cars a good look at inside and out, you may find something interesting that has been long forgotten or raise new questions and possibilities.

If you’re looking to join the action in Stock Cars Australia and you want to start with an AUSCAR or a Sportsman, look no further than the #02 Ford Falcon Sportsman to suit your needs, it is ready to go, no restoration required, you could be racing by the end of the season.
There are plenty of cars in sheds (and sadly out in the open) across Australia, if you want to move your car on, we’ll be happy to add it to the vehicles for sale page, the car can be complete or just a roller, with Stock Cars Australia on the up, anything is possible and it will be done for free, no fees, no commissions etc just post and hope.
Most Wanted

We are looking for anybody who may know this ex-Brad Jones, ex-Kim Jane ride car and can prove where the car came from before Brad Jones, we have two different opinions, one is that it came from George Elliot (he isn’t sure about that) and the other is it came from Walter Giles (Giles family doesn’t believe that).

The right side 3/4 window is considered key, it looks very similar to the right 3/4 window of the Ron Goodman #05 Oldsmobile at the Gold Coast in 1992 as it doesn’t look very Oldsmobile like, but we have found no similar and clear photo of the #05 Oldsmobile’s right side to accurately compare the two.
Somebody out there has to know for sure, Brad Jones getting a ride car had to be a pretty big deal as he only had ‘Elroy’ on hand early on, plus a ride car is a nice way to get more Stock Car laps in too.
Our Facebook page has 298 followers and 15 following; we welcome those who have joined in recent weeks and hope that they are enjoying what they are reading, and thanks goes to Michael Rice for his great support this last week.
See you next week.
