There are eight days to go until the racing gets underway at The Bend, seven days for those who will partake in Friday practice.
The VMRC website now has news and information on this round, a historic one for the VMRC as they are at The Bend for the first time.
Stock Cars Australia will be using the West Circuit of The Bend and tickets are free Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so if you live close to the circuit, come and see the racing on May 3 and 4.
Two races are planned for both Saturday and Sunday so there will be four races in total.
Entry totals should be around nine hopefully higher, defending champion Danny Burgess is going to be at The Bend, Mick Heppleston is going too, and the Stubbs are highly likely to be there too so that with the listed five makes nine.
Entrants still have until the end of the 27th to get their online entries in.

As reported earlier, the #16 Ford Mustang is going to be at The Bend, but its driver is not Scott Nind as a new driver will be making their Stock Cars Australia debut and that driver is Jack Perkins.
Jack has won nine Super2 races and one Supercars race among other honours, he recently co-driven with James Courtney in the 2024 Bathurst 1000.
We welcome Jack to Stock Cars Australia, and we hope that it is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Richard White Racing has shown fans their repaired Monte Carlo after Scott Pye put it into the wall at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival after the steering wheel came off.
As you can see the left front took a beating, but it was successfully patched up in Adelaide to complete the weekend of activities before RWR repaired it at home.

The Botheras family has been going through video of the AUSCAR and Sportsman rounds to get footage of their car in action, while VHS quality can make it difficult to pick out the cars in distance shots, the Botheras have found their car on multiple occasions.
Footage from 1988 to the end of the 1991/92 season is in smaller amounts than footage from 1992/93 onwards though Sportsman footage is still light throughout its history.
The #14 AUSCAR/Sportsman is hoped to be at Calder Park this year, we look forward to seeing it in action when the day comes of its SCA debut.

Eddie Ivermee got his front rotors, and he now has all the pieces to the Oldsmobile puzzle.
Eddie says that he will ‘mock up the engine and gearbox first to make all the mounts then pull the diff out and rebuild it‘
We will continue to follow the progress of the #46 Oldsmobile and report on it as it happens, perhaps it will inspire others to build their cars or inspire people to want to buy one and build it themselves.
Sponsorship
A page is being set up to showcase all the sponsors that the vehicles in Stock Cars Australia have on them, if you want your sponsor added to the list please contact us anytime.
If you are looking for sponsors, let us know all the details and we’ll post it, we’ll need details like size of sponsorship on a car, cost of the sponsorship, how many rounds it will be for etc.
Most Wanted
This weekly section is devoted to seeking information about cars or anything Stock Car related

We are looking for anybody who may know this ex-Brad Jones, ex-Kim Jane ride car and can prove where the car came from, we have two different opinions, one is that it came from George Elliot (he isn’t sure about that) and the other is it came from Walter Giles (Giles family doesn’t believe that).

The right side 3/4 window is considered key, it looks very similar to the right 3/4 window of the Ron Goodman #05 Oldsmobile at the Gold Coast in 1992 as it doesn’t look very Oldsmobile like, but we have found no similar and clear photo of the #05 Oldsmobile’s right side to accurately compare the two.
Somebody out there has to know for sure, Brad Jones getting a ride car had to be a pretty big deal as he only had ‘Elroy’ on hand early on, plus a ride car is a nice way to get more Stock Car laps in too.

We’re hoping that somebody has an article from 1992 that mentions Ian Thomas buying an Oldsmobile or getting one built, this car is the one used in the 1992/93 season before moved on to John Faulkner, Eddie Abelnica and Paul Stocker who had Doug Moss driving it.
Why we are asking is because Doug Taylor is sure he only reconditioned the car, Peter Sportelli says Doug built the car, Ian Thomas thinks it came from Morgan-McClure like the previous two Olds and John Faulkner believed it came from TriStar when they were offloading their cars to go to Chevrolet and then Ford.
So hopefully somebody has something written down that can answer which story is the correct one.
That’s it for this week, next week we will have the preview written up and the eighty-fifth edition of Aussie Stock Car News.
See you next week.
