15 days to go until Round 2 race action takes place at The Bend, fourteen days to go if you’re counting the Friday practice session that drivers can add to their entry cost.

Drivers have until the end of the 27th to get their entry in.

A reminder for viewers to get Blend Line TV Premium so you don’t miss out on any of the action though hopefully it will be on the regular stream, so nobody misses out, but it is always good to be prepared.

This is The Bend from the perspective of Google Earth, a big complex that looks perfect for Stock Cars, lots of places to get the power down.

There doesn’t seem to be any major promotional work done for Round 2 of the VMRC, it is a bit concerning, people can’t go to what they don’t know about.

We are pleased to report that we have round entry news, and it is very good news, usually we have the VMRC site to get the entry list from but since The Bend has their own entry system etc., there is no online list.

Lukas Gates in the #22 SCA AUSCAR will be at The Bend after engine work on the #22 was successfully carried out which is great news as the SCA field is very competitive and people love it when they’re racing close together.

Mick Heppleston in the #304 OzTruck will be racing at The Bend after the OzTruck had gearbox work carried out, it is a fine looking OzTruck that #304, people should really see it in person.

The #16 and #34 Mustang will be at The Bend, the big question is who will be in the #16 Mustang, a few names have been suggested but the mystery remains.

That #34 sure got nearby residents out of bed on that Sunday at Calder Park Raceway and it is good that the people of South Australia get to see it and hear it for themselves.

Jamey Hollier will be there in the #71 SCA AUSCAR (#7 on the car for historical purposes)

As reported earlier, the #8 Monte Carlo will be at The Bend with Richard White driving it, the #3 Lumina being unused at this present time.

With the exception of Jamey Hollier, all of the above were unable to be at the season opener at Winton so assuming that most of those who were at Winton are going to be at The Bend too, we’re back to regular service.

There are 41 TA2/Trans Am cars at Bathurst this weekend, can anybody remember the days when TA2 shared tracks with Stock Cars Australia? Only a few existed back then so they had to start somewhere.

It is very pleasing that both TA2/Trans Am and Stock Cars Australia have both grown since those days, while we haven’t grown at the pace of the TA2 bunch, it is always better to be going up at any rate than be going down at any rate.

Our Facebook page is up to 291 followers which is pretty good, sure others have a lot more, but happiness begins at one follower.

Our Instagram is up to 19 followers; we have a countdown running for Round 2 so there is no way to for followers to forget that it will be on, the social media caper is one that at times is hard to keep up with but we’re trying.

Now for our weekly ask for information that hopefully somebody has the answers to as we slowly make our way across the internet.

We are looking for anybody who may know this ex-Brad Jones, ex-Kim Jane ride car and can prove where the car came from, we have two different opinions, one is that it came from George Elliot (he isn’t sure about that) and the other is it came from Walter Giles (Giles family doesn’t believe that).

The right side 3/4 window is considered key, it looks very similar to the right 3/4 window of the Ron Goodman #05 Oldsmobile at the Gold Coast in 1992 as it doesn’t look very Oldsmobile like, but we have found no similar and clear photo of the #05 Oldsmobile’s right side to accurately compare the two.

Somebody out there has to know for sure, Brad Jones getting a ride car had to be a pretty big deal as he only had ‘Elroy’ on hand early on, plus it is a nice way to get more Stock Car laps in too.

We’re hoping that somebody has an article from 1992 that mentions Ian Thomas buying an Oldsmobile or getting one built, this car is the one used in the 1992/93 season before moved on to John Faulkner, Eddie Abelnica and Paul Stocker who had Doug Moss driving it.

Why we are asking is because Doug Taylor is sure he only reconditioned the car, Peter Sportelli says Doug built the car, Ian Thomas thinks it came from Morgan-McClure like the previous two and John Faulkner believed it came from TriStar when they were offloading their cars to go to Chevrolet and then Ford.

So, the best way to sort out the multiple opinions is to find written proof, but it has eluded us.

Time to wrap this edition up, the above was a little pleading but after spending so much money and time, not knowing cannot be the final result, it has to be somewhere.

See you next week.
