22 days until Round 2 racing gets underway at The Bend for the first time, 21 days until Friday practice.
Online entries close on Sunday April 27 at 11:59pm so there is just over two weeks to go to decide on entering the event, all the entry details can be found here.
Don’t forget that if you can’t see the racing in person, you can buy a Blend Line TV subscription to watch the action live via their premium subscription service.
The #22 SCA AUSCAR team is working towards getting ready for The Bend, they had an engine issue that forced them to miss out on Winton but as you will see in this reel, the engine is doing well.
The #16 Ford Mustang has had its new engine fired up (see comments in the link) but there’s something else happening, a new driver for The Bend, this has made things very interesting.
Could we be seeing both the #16 Mustang and the #34 Mustang on the track in South Australia?
Over at Richard White Racing, preparation continues for The Bend with the cars getting worked on at the panel/paint shop this weekend, final touches will be done over the Easter weekend.
Do you want to see what Adelaide International Raceway looks like these days? Now you can thanks to YouTube Channel ‘Paris Charles’, see some great vehicles make use of the facility and there’s even a Telecom era (that’s Telstra to 30 years or abouts old or younger readers) phone box there, those are expensive these days.
Some lucky fliers get to see the Thunderdome from the air, Garth Tander this week joined the ranks of those who taken a photo of the track from that vantage point.
Al Dobbin was another who had recently taken photos and people can see that there is activity at the complex as there are cars parked, the Thunderdome is set up for the Drifters and cars are on Calder Park Raceway, brings a new meaning to inflight entertainment.
A programme for the 1998 Bathurst 1000 (Super Tourers) was purchased and we got to have a look at the entry list, there were over 20 entries for the race.
There were some interesting revelations in the entry list for example it had Gerry Raleigh in the #02 Oldsmobile Cutlass, Peter Hacket in the #23 Chevrolet Lumina and Nicholas Hall in the Holden Commodore.
Others who were entered were Robin Best, Bryan Sala, Tony Southwell, Ian Thomas and Max Dumesny.
Whether the details are accurate is unclear as there could be wrong spelling and details like Ken James was written down as entered in a Chevrolet Monte Carlo, but he drove an Oldsmobile Cutlass, looks like we got more work to do.

Another two boxes have been ticked in Eddie Ivermee’s quest to build the #46 Oldsmobile, this week he had received the delivery of brake pads and a gear shifter, coming up next is the front rotors and then he’ll have everything he needs to start building.
Here’s some rotten luck for the week, I had earlier purchased NASCAR 99 for the N64 and turned on my console upon delivery to have a go of it and nothing happened, my new power box has gone dead, so it is likely the console has an issue that is killing off the console power boxes. good thing the game was also made for PlayStation.

All research on the #46 Oldsmobile has come to a halt, unfortunately there is nothing more for us to do but hope for a written record on the 1992/93 #23 Oldsmobile that later became the #46, the #9, the #48 and the #6, if anybody has an Auto Action article on Round 1 of the 1992/93 season, please let us know.

All research on the #3 Lumina has also come to a halt, we still haven’t found anybody who can tell with absolute certainty where Brad Jones got this ride car from, some say Walter Giles, some say George Elliot but there’s nothing to prove either argument, so if anybody has the answer, please let us know
That’s all the news for the weekend, a good week overall and that’s the way we like it.
See you next week.
