Many years ago, I was on a mod binge, downloading mod after mod that was made for the PC game rFactor and one of them was a HQ Holden mod.

While watching the Victorian State Race Series on YouTube, I saw a viewer commenting that the mod was on Assetto Corsa, after reading that I had to see it for myself.

Sure enough, it was there and so I downloaded it and using Brodies Assetto Mods version of Calder Park Thunderdome, I was soon enjoying laps of the Thunderdome in a HQ.

The track on the above link is really set up for the drifters, cars keep finding the wall and the walls are a little low and they can be vaulted over, leaving you ending up in the parking lot if you hit the right spot.

There is another version of the Thunderdome on Assetto Mods – Car and Track Database on Patreon, you have to be a Top Fan/VIP to get it, the problem with this mod is that the Start/Finish line does not extend from the outside well through the grass to the pit wall so if you pit, you lose a lap.

It was fun taking these cars for a spin, Jake Frisch of course got to take a HQ for a drive on the Thunderdome last year which was fun to spectate especially in the passenger seat of the #3 Lumina.

So, if you got Assetto Corsa on PC, consider downloading everything and have yourself a good time.
