Winton Raceway starts off proceedings of the 2025 Australian Stock Car Championship season this weekend.
It is a big week for Stock Car racing in Australia this week, while the racing is on at Winton, Zac O’Hara and Richard White are representing Stock Cars Australia at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival and hopefully bringing back news of interested competitors for later on in the 2025 season.
Let’s take a look at the field for Round 1 of this eagerly awaited season.
The Field for Winton
At this time of writing we have seven entrants, a variety of factors have sidelined a number of the field, and we hope to see them back later on in the season.
We have two defending champions, one Sportsman winner, one driver switching from Muscle Division to OzTruck and more.

Defending SCA AUSCAR champion Colin Matton is back in the #2 Holden Commodore, can he defend his title?

Troy Perichon the President of SCA AUSCAR is back in the #6 Ford Falcon after mechanical issues shortened his 2024 season.

Jamey Hollier, the ten-time winner in Sportsman competition plus car builder of many in AUSCAR is back in the #71 (#7 visually) Ford Falcon.
Brendan O’Connor is back but he has swapped his #10 Ford Falcon Ute in the Muscle Division for the race winning now #10 Chevrolet Silverado previously owned by Brendon Hourigan.

Robert Marchese is in the #84 Chevrolet Silverado, there is little doubt that Robert will put in another solid performance on the track keeping the #84 towards the pointy end of the championship.

Daniel Stubbs is back in the #19 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, the car in black was narrowly denied wins at One Raceway at the close of last season so expect another competitive run this time around at Winton.

Reports of his retirement are greatly exaggerated, defending Muscle Division champion Michael Rice is back in the #108 VT Commodore.
At this time of writing two other teams are working to try and make it for Winton, you know a series is going great when you have people striving to get to the track, we appreciate their efforts.
