14 days to go until the 2025 season starts at Winton, the wait is almost over, soon ASCN will be writing up the round preview and then it is showtime.

There will be a Holden vs. Ford SCA AUSCAR battle as Colin Matton and Jamey Hollier are entered for the round, two fantastic cars, you definitely need to see these cars in person.

There is some bad news and that is the #22 Holden Commodore won’t be at Winton due to an engine issue; it occurred when the team was doing a dyno session with their new camshaft, extensive damage was done to the new camshaft and other components.

The team is looking forward to getting back on the track when Round 2 comes around which is currently slated to be at The Bend on May 3 and 4.

Elliot Barbour will be doing some laps for Richard White Racing at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival which will be held on March 8 and 9.

Elliot is one half of the Apex Hunters United podcast, the other half is Scott Pye, Elliot races in Trans Am and is now going to be sampling some of the best RWR and SCA has to offer, a wise choice.

Our search for the origin of the #3 Lumina has attracted the attention of George Elliot who was invited to drive the car at Adelaide, but he has commitments that weekend, he’s uncertain if he had the car so we’re trying to figure it out for him.

We’re no closer to figuring out the history of the car, here is everything we have on the car and above you’ll see that the right-side rear window looks like the one Ron Goodman had on his #05 Oldsmobile at the Gold Coast in 1992, the car that seems to have disappeared after that round, it looks unusual but current material is inconclusive.

Is there anybody out there who has a clear photo of the right-hand side of the #05 Oldsmobile, also in the interest of eliminating any other pink cars, any pictures of the Walter Giles show car around? all the way around though a look at the bumper will likely provide the answers.

Maybe just maybe we’ll find somebody who worked on the car in 1992 or has a picture, might be newsworthy to some organizations if it is in the bag before Adelaide.

Thanks to Doug Taylor, we now know what the Ian Thomas car that raced at Michigan looked like and as you can see it has the rear window we’ve been looking for.

Notice that while the rectangle has six points, the cars we’ve seen with six have three of them on both sides, none of them have points centre of the top and bottom like this car and the TriStar cars had eight on theirs.

We found out that Ian attempted a third race that was held in September 1992, a mixed Winston West and ARCA race in Texas, Ian’s name was left out of most records because they didn’t count ARCA DNQ’s just Winston West.

Thoughts on the origin of the car is split between Doug Taylor building it or that it had come from a Winston Cup team, records are being sought, and we will update you.

NASCAR 21: Ignition is no more on Steam, it was a nice-looking game, but the coding was pure junk, and it was almost impossible to have a serious race in so hopefully the upcoming game will be well tested before release and will be more satisfying to play.

That’s the news for this week, the long wait for the 2025 season is almost over, it will be a sweet feeling to get there so sit back and relax for just a little bit longer.

See you next week.
