Welcome to the first annual ASCN awards, we always want to come up with new ideas and bring more enjoyment to the sport in Australia and hopefully we’ve done it with The 1st Annual ASCN Awards.

There are seven awards this year, a small start to the awards but the first year is always about building foundations of a strong future and not get too far ahead of ourselves.

Without further ado, our first award is….

The Most On-Track Award

Danny Burgess

This award is based on the best finishing record of a driver not who stayed on the track the most, Danny finished in all but one points and non-points races of the 2024 season.

Best Presented Stock Car

#34 Ford Mustang of Scott Nind

This was a tough one, the Stock Car field is full of great looking vehicles, the #41 Ford Thunderbird is eye catching, the #17 blazes its own trail when it comes to liveries, the #3 and the #8 are fine tribute cars, the #16 has the then Roush Fenway Racing beauty to it but the #34 tops them all.

Best Presented OzTruck

The #8 Chevrolet Silverado of Brett Mitchell

A new look for the #8 Chevrolet Silverado and it certainly does stand out the best, it wasn’t easy to decide as all the OzTrucks have a good look to them from the mostly silver of Mick Heppleston’s #304 to Danny Burgess and his mostly orange #7 and then there is Brendon Hourigan’s #51.

Best Presented SCA AUSCAR

#7 Ford Falcon of Jamey Hollier

The SCA AUSCAR field is full of great looking vehicles, the #2 Commodore is great, the #22 stands out, the #54 Sportsman looks very good, the #26 is excellent as it does stand out and the #6 Ford Falcon is a classic.

We’ve got the multi coloured look, the big Ford Motorsport decal on the back, the great Falcon shape, it has everything you need in a great looking AUSCAR when looking back at 2024.

Best Presented Muscle Division Car

#108 Holden VT Commodore of Michael Rice

Had AUSCAR and Australian Stock Car racing survived past the first few months of 2000, the VT Commodore would have been introduced to the competitions, Stock Cars Australia has three VT’s, two are Stock Cars, and the other is the #108 driven by Michael Rice in the Muscle Division.

The car has a nice mix of Fluro, white and black with the latter taking up the majority of the car making it a distinct car on the track.

Battle of the Year Award

Danny Burgess, Daniel Stubbs and Brett Mitchell at One Raceway.

The best was saved for the last round of the season, these three drivers put on a spectacle for spectators and viewers alike, One Raceway was just the right size and configuration for all three to have strengths and weaknesses that ensured a battle.

Best Newcomer Award

Colin Matton

Colin was by far the easy choice for the Best Newcomer Award, he came into SCA AUSCAR at Winton, and he ended up taking home the SCA AUSCAR title at One Raceway.

Conclusion of ASCN Awards

That concludes this year’s awards, hopefully you have enjoyed the experience and look forward to December 31, 2025, when the next one comes along.
