Hot conditions today greeted drivers who made use of Calder Park Raceway, among those using the facility was Richard White Racing and they used the #3 Lumina.
Members of the RWR team got to ride along with Richard and they would have had a fantastic time being driven around in the Lumina, if you haven’t been driven around in a Stock Car yet, do it as soon as you can.
The SCA AUSCAR rules have been completed, if you would like to know more about them, please contact Troy Perichon who is SCA AUSCAR President.

AUSCAR #31 has made two posts since last Friday which is always good to see, the car is currently slated to be running in Stock Cars Australia sometime in the future.
Due to promotional purposes, there were briefly two #31 cars in AUSCAR, the second car belonged to Shane Ryding who had the number in HQ racing but couldn’t use it in AUSCAR for his two ex-Scott Wood Commodores as the number was already taken, his #31 was just used for photos.
We went through Motorsport News and saved 280 or so clippings of news as we continue to work on tracing car origins, Laurence Mckinnon’s #25 Ford Thunderbird was the #21 of Morgan Shepherd and owned by John Nissen, after it had raced on the Thunderdome as the #21, it remained untouched as the #21 until Terry Wyhoon brought it, had it shipped over and changed it up to become the #25.
Laurence’s car is also the #25 Ford Thunderbird that raced in the Bathurst 100 race.
We threw more work this week into the hunt for the origins of the #3 Lumina unfortunately we did not get a single bite despite lots of looks which was pretty deflating, but it was soon back to work at cracking the case.

For those who don’t know, every week we are looking for anybody who worked on the Ron Goodman Oldsmobile in 1992 (see above), this car was an ex-Real McCoy Oldsmobile that got plenty of attention on the Gold Coast and it still does as it ended up hitting the Tony Southwell Buick twice, almost ended up in the wall on the front straight and it has never been forgotten since.
Originally said to be purchased, it was later reported as leased and sent back to George Elliot after the Gold Coast race, we’re looking for somebody who can tell us where the car went afterwards, we’re hoping that the answer is Brad Jones.

We know that Brad Jones received a pink car to be his ride car, some say it is a Walter Giles car, but all his cars seem to be accounted for and the Ron Goodman one off may have been forgotten and was thought to be a Walter Giles car as their paint shades were close?
We think that we have pretty much got all the bits and pieces of the story, but there is no conclusive proof and that prevents provenance from happening so hopefully somebody has the answer and bring a successful halt to hundreds of hours of research.
The weeks until the end of the year is winding down, there’s still plenty of news to tell before the year is out as plans for the 2025 season pick up steam.
To finish up this week’s edition, we are just over 100 site hits away from reaching 10,000 site hits for 2024 which will be a first as we’re up 69% on last year’s record total, this is more exciting than Christmas and I love Christmas (well mostly Boxing Day).
See you next week.
