Colin Matton won the 2024 SCA AUSCAR title, the season was shorter than the overall season as SCA waited for sufficient numbers to make a championship of it, a decision that was proven to be wise as a combined total of a half dozen AUSCAR and Sportsman vehicles had a shot at the title.
It was not the greatest of starts for Colin and the #2 Commodore, his debut race at Winton Raceway ended after just one lap of the race depriving him of valuable points.
Colin took the start for Race 2, and he finished eleventh overall but most importantly was the fact that he finished second among the SCA AUSCAR runners.

Race three delivered another eleventh overall finish giving him another second-place finish among the SCA AUSCAR runners.
Race four was a big success for Colin as he finished eighth overall and he secured his first SCA AUSCAR win.

The series moved on to Calder Park and Colin started Calder Park with a bang by finishing seventh overall and picking up the SCA AUSCAR win in Race 1.
Colin in excellent racing conditions finished sixth overall in Race 2 and he picked up his third SCA AUSCAR win of the season.
Sunday’s Race 3 was run in rain drizzle conditions and saw Colin finish sixth overall and second to Lukas Gates in SCA AUSCAR.
Race 4 was run in better conditions on the track and Colin finished eighth overall resulting in finishing third in SCA AUSCAR behind Lukas Gates and Jamey Hollier.

The season finale taken the field to One Raceway with Colin holding a twenty-point lead on Lukas Gates, a nice but not unbeatable lead for the #2 Commodore.
Race 1 saw Colin finish tenth overall in the race and second in SCA AUSCAR to Lukas Gates who took a little bit out of the championship lead.
Race 2 was the battle of all battles as Colin and Lukas stuck together the whole race with Colin finishing tenth overall and pipping Lukas by .1590 of a second to balance things back out in the championship battle.
Race 3 was the championship decider and Colin made sure the title was his by finishing ninth overall and taking his fifth SCA AUSCAR win.
Colin was unavailable for the last race of the round but as it was a non-championship race, his absence did not have an impact on the championship.
Colin won five SCA AUSCAR races in the 2024 season and his highest overall finishing position was sixth.
Congratulations to Colin on his SCA AUSCAR title win and we hope that we see him on track to defend it in 2025.
