Work on the Frisch Pontiac is going well with the team continuing to do measurements and purchasing and receiving parts, we are pleased to report that Jake’s search for brakes was successful.

This week we told the story of Danny Burgess’ journey to the championship, it has just over 50 reads which is good to see as it was a great championship season and win.

Coming up next will be the story of Colin Matton’s journey that ended with winning the 2024 SCA AUSCAR title, all title journey’s will be spread out to help keep readers entertained all off-season long.

We now have a nice new email to be used, it is ryanstevenson@aussiestockcarnews.com so feel free to drop a line the increasingly becoming old fashioned way as most just like texting these days, technology has come a very long way that even emails seem old fashioned and going out of style.

$49,688 would buy you a ready to race Truck that resides in New Zealand, you may need to join the group to have a look at the Truck that was a backup for Craig Goess Jr, Craig ran in the Truck Series for Eddie Sharp in 2011.

It looks like our buying of Motorsport News editions has reached its end, as noted earlier the amount of Australian NASCAR articles dropped considerably from the end of the 1998/99 season if not earlier, it was sad to see the decline of material and most late material were about cancellations and uncertainty.

The cool part about buying all those editions was the classifieds section, so many cars we know about ended up there like the above one that now tears down the salt flats.

Every week we ask for any information on the early car history for the above car; it was a George Elliot ride car sold to Brad Jones to serve as his ride car, we’re looking for any NASTRAK photos that has a Lumina with an Oldsmobile rear as you see in the above photo, it is likely to be pink inside and out with the pink lighter on the inside.

This car later after a couple of owners became Richard White’s #3 Lumina so any information would be greatly appreciated, anything written down in an article is of great importance.

We have received plenty of beliefs on what it was but nothing definitive as investigation has taken us everywhere from Ron Goodman to Walter Giles’ and his Buick LeSabre so anything definitive would be most welcome.

We’re looking for anybody who can tell us about the Lawes Brothers Oldsmobile’s, we are specifically looking for anybody who knows about the black barred Oldsmobile (orange underneath it) as the one Zac has had grey bars when it was involved in the crash with the car below, we believe the one Jake Frisch has it the same #6 as the above photo as the V shaped object is grey on Zac’s car.

We’re still looking for any information on the #05 Holden Commodore of Ron Goodman, it seemingly vanished from sight sometime in 1997, this is the well-known car that burst into flames, it was rebuilt, and it raced on before being sold as a roller at a very low price.

We saw one text only ad for a Commodore in QLD from around 1998, but it turned out it was the ex-Steve Cosson Commodore, that one reportedly went to Germany.

That’s it for the news and views of the week, a little light on new material but we will have quiet times some weeks especially as the year gets closer to the end but there’s still plenty to keep track of this off-season.

See you next week.
