Danny Burgess was the 2024 Australian Stock Car Championship winner in a battle that went down to the last round of the season.

Here we will take you through every race result of Danny’s to show just how he ended up being the 2024 champion.

Round 1 of the 2024 season opened at Sydney Motorsport Park with the track shared with the Australian SuperTT Championship.

Danny opened his season account with a third-place finish among SCA drivers, this effort was followed up by another third-place finish in race two.

Danny improved his weekend with a second-place finish in race three before ending the weekend with a third-place finish in the seven minute long fourth race.

Round 2 was an interesting round at Queensland Raceway, low numbers of entrants meant that the track was shared with the 2024 Australian SuperTT Championship and invited entrants making it several races within a race.

Counting only SCA entrants, Danny finished third in the first race and fifth in race two on Saturday before going into Sunday and finishing third in race 3 and fifth in race 4.

Round 3 at Winton saw Danny finish fourth and fourth overall in the first two races that were held on Saturday.

Race three on Sunday delivered another fourth overall before he dropped to sixth in a wild Race 4 that saw the #7 OzTruck do some off road driving.

Calder Park saw Danny pick up a fourth overall in Race 1 before a mechanical failure resulted in a DNF and cost him an almost certain second overall in Race 2.

Race 3 on the Sunday was a race held in drizzling rain conditions and that race resulted in a fourth-place finish and Race 4 was in more favourable conditions and resulted in another fourth-place finish.

The results at Calder Park put Danny just behind Robert Marchese in the overall standings heading into the season finale at One Raceway and results were far from certain.

The season finale was held at the new look One Raceway (Wakefield Park), the new reconfiguration of the track levelled the playing field.

Danny started the round off right by winning the first race of the day ahead of Brett Mitchell by just over two seconds before comfortably winning race two ahead of Daniel Stubbs to close out Saturday.

Race three on Sunday was the final points race of the season and Danny scooped that win too but he had battle hard for this one as the margin over Daniel Stubbs was less than a second.

Race four was for fun but it didn’t mean Danny could relax as Daniel Stubbs was eager to go home with a win and while the #19 Monte Carlo could get alongside the #7 and even stick the nose in front, he couldn’t get a car length in front to clear Danny and Danny ended the season with another less than a second win.

That is how Danny Burgess won his first Australian Stock Car Championship title, finishing all but one race and winning races right when he needed to for a season total of four wins.
