A week ago, we were preparing for the final round of the 2024 season, what a season finale it was, close racing all the way from start to finish, with results never certain until the very end of each race, the spectators got one heck of a serious show.
By late Sunday afternoon, Danny Burgess was the overall champion, Scott Nind was the Stock Car title holder, Colin Matton was SCA AUSCAR champion and Michael Rice was the Muscle Car champion.
For the rest of the year, we will be writing up each of their 2024 journeys to being champions.

While this was going on, Jake Frisch and his team gathered together to start planning out the building of the Pontiac that as you can see has a long journey ahead of it, but they have made the best possible start.
Some interesting notes about the Pontiac body is that Walter Giles is written on the back of the nose of the car, the body has what appears to be a G sprayed onto the sides, hopefully we find out the story behind those details soon.
Jake is looking for rear brake callipers and hats (with rotors if possible) to suit his Pontiac, so if you got some or know where to get some, please comment here or contact Jake.
Jamie Jordan has provided one lead that is on Marketplace and hopefully we’ll be able to find some more.
The build is currently projected to be finished in time to contest the late rounds of the 2025 season.

The call has gone out for AUSCAR and Sportsman drivers to consider joining SCA AUSCAR in 2025.
The #2 Holden Commodore, the #6 Ford Falcon, the #7 Ford Falcon, the #22 Holden Commodore, the #26 Holden Commodore and the #54 Ford Falcon (the only Sportsman so far) are waiting for you to join in the action.
If you are interested in joining or you want to know more, please contact SCA AUSCAR President Troy Perichon as soon as possible.
Rules for SCA AUSCAR will be coming soon, the SCA AUSCAR runners have been hard at work trying to come up with a rules package to suit all the cars as the cars are of various ages from the beginning days in 1988 to those last racing in 1999, all cars have different components and so a balance must be struck to make sure the cars run good and are safe as can possibly be without upsetting people.

‘Vehicles For Sale‘ was launched this week and there is a bit of something for everyone who wants to join the fun that is Stock Cars Australia or just want something for themselves.
The #02 Sportsman is one such vehicle for sale, it is the ex-Tony Howlett Ford Falcon, this car was built in 1996 and raced in the late years of competition, it was garaged in excellent condition after Sportsman competition stopped in December 1999.

Brad Hall purchased it more than twenty years later and got it going in very little time with the car running on the Thunderdome soon after as you can see above.
It has a 302 Cleveland engine and 4 speed gearbox plus an in-date harness has been installed so you the driver will drive in great safety.
The price of the car is $20,000, it does come with spares which is always handy for those getting into the sport, contact Brad Hall if you are interested.

Cole Davis checked in with the latest on his #38 AUSCAR, it is looking really good and soon it will be moved along to the next phase of its massive rebuild that started just over four years ago.
We will be releasing a full report on the history of the car and its rebuild when the car hits the track in 2025.

While at Calder Park, I had remarked that I was sure that I had seen the #17 HQ Holden in Echuca some time ago, turns out that I did and had also photographed the occasion back when most people used cameras instead of phones to take photos with.
Nothing new on the #3 Lumina this week, still hopeful of a breakthrough someday, we’re looking for any photos of the driving school cars, somebody must have photos out there somewhere, if the car came from NASTRAK, we’ll see it.
We reached 9000 site visits for 2024 this week, October was also our most successful month for the year so far, thank you to all of you who visit this website.
That’s the news and views for the week, the off season may have just started but the action just keeps on going and we’ll be here covering it for you.
See you next week.
