Can you believe that this is our last round preview for the year? Round 5 of the 2024 season takes us to One Raceway formerly known as Wakefield Park.
The track recently had a redesign with the surrounding area also redone to reduce noise, the track is located about 7km away from Goulburn.
The weather will be good with a very small chance of rainfall, temperatures are estimated to be between 18 and 22 degrees for the weekend.
SBS will be airing the weekend of action from 1pm ADST on both Saturday and Sunday while YouTube should have the morning action onwards on the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series YouTube page.
If you want to go to One Raceway, ticket prices are below and can be brought online as well as in person.

The Field

Brett Mitchell is back in the #8 OzTruck, Zac O’Hara is going to be in the #41 Ford Thunderbird, Brad Lighton is entered in the #26 VS Commodore, Damian Sullivan returns in the #111 Holden Commodore and Brendan O’Connor is back in the #10 Ford FG Falcon Ute.
Those who raced in the previous round at Calder Park and are entered at One Raceway are Danny Burgess, Robert Marchese, Daniel Stubbs, Jamey Hollier, Colin Matton, Lukas Gates, Mick Heppleston and Michael Rice.
Rick Christy, Michael Rose, Michael Ricketts, Merrick Malouf and Mark Granger join the field to bulk up the Muscle Car Division.
A total of 18 entries were received giving Stock Cars Australia another strong round for the season, fifteen entries or higher has been the normal for most of the season.
Regulars who are out of action for this round are Richard White, Scott Nind, Jake Frisch, Jeff Stubbs, Chris Robinson and Laurence Mckinnon, we look forward to seeing them in action in 2025.
Now to look at the points situation going into the final round
Overall Top Three Leaderboard after Round 4 of the 2024 season.

Robert Marchese – 407 pts (OzTruck)
Danny Burgess – 401 pts (OzTruck)
Scott Nind – 395 pts (Cup Car)
Scott Nind won’t be at One Raceway and so we will have a new champion this Sunday, it will be either Robert Marchese in the #84 OzTruck or Danny Burgess in the #7 OzTruck.
Robert Marchese is a great driver whose OzTruck is one of the most consistent runners in the field, this has given the #84 OzTruck driver great opportunities to collect points when others fall away, if he can stay close to the #7 and finish ahead of him once or twice, anything is possible.
Danny Burgess is also a great driver, it is not unusual to see the #7 OzTruck hanging around the pointy end of the field, Danny had some bad luck this season like the mechanical failure in Race 2 at Calder Park when he was comfortably in second on the track but expect him to be a contender for wins this weekend.
Either driver is a worthy champion, it is going to be a great contest so make sure you watch it in person on watch online or on SBS.
SCA AUSCAR

SCA AUSCAR Points
1 – Colin Matton – Holden VN Commodore – 185 pts
2 – Jamey Hollier – Ford EL Falcon – 172 pts
3- Chris Robinson – Ford XF Falcon – 165 points
4. Lukas Gates – Holden VP Commodore – 160 pts
5. Brad Lighton – Holden VS Commodore – 102 pts
6. Troy Perichon – XF Falcon – 65 pts
Colin Matton has a slim yet handy lead in the SCA AUSCAR championship, but the driver of the #2 VN Commodore will have to work for his championship as he has got Jamey Hollier and Lukas Gates to contend with, if any of the three have a bad weekend like a weekend ending mechanical failure in Race 1 then Brad Lighton who is entered for the round and as good a driver as the other three in SCA AUSCAR can get into the Top 3 in points if he bags enough points.

SCA Muscle Car Division
Michael Rice – VT Commodore – 188 pts
Laurence Mckinnon – XE Falcon – 120 pts
John Angionlella – BMW – 115 pts
Damian Sullivan – 110 pts
Greg Morris – Commodore – 102 pts
Michael Rice’s biggest challenger is Laurence Mckinnon, unfortunately he won’t be at One Raceway, but Damian Sullivan will be there and while there is a sizable margin it is not impossible if Michael has a problem early in the weekend and Damian ends up being the best Muscle Car Division driver around.
It has been a great season and this round at One Raceway should continue to provide spectators and viewers with great action and hopefully the inspiration for drivers to join Stock Cars Australia in 2025.
Thank you, readers, for coming to read the previews throughout the season, we will be back next year with previews of the rounds to come.
