Oh my god, we’re back again.

No it’s not the Backstreet Boys instead it’s Stock Cars Australia back at Calder Park Raceway for four races plus time at the Thunderdome, an hour each day to be exact.

There’s plenty of news to get through from newcomers to returnees and more so let’s get going.

Ranald Maclurkin is making his debut in the series in a Corvette, that’s going to be very interesting seeing a corvette in action.

We’ve got Mick Heppleston back in action and he’ll be in an OzTruck this time, it means no #41 Ford Thunderbird but we’re glad that Mick is back.

Returning is Laurence Mckinnon in the #82 XE Falcon, it is always good to see Laurence in action.

John Angiolella is back in the BMW E36, it is nice to see the BMW back and help bulk up the Muscle Division.

All six SCA AUSCARs that appeared at Winton are coming to Calder Park, three Holden’s and three Ford’s vying for SCA AUSCAR supremacy.

Lukas Gates, Colin Matton and Brad Lighton are in the Commodore’s and Jamey Hollier, Troy Perichon and Chris Robinson are in the Falcon’s and the championship order will change all weekend.

Just one Richard White Racing car is racing this round and that is the #8 Monte Carlo but the #3 Lumina will be used on the Thunderdome so you’ll see both RWR cars being used.

Racing will be close between the two Stubbs, who will be in front? Jeff in the Dodge ex-TA2 or Daniel in the Monte Carlo?

Michael Rice will be making the trip to Calder Park in the VT Commodore.

Danny Burgess and Robert Marchese are two of the three OzTrucks in action, both are pretty much two constants in the SCA universe.

Scott Nind will be in the #16 Ford Mustang, it is favourite to lead the competition though nothing is a certainty, surprises can happen.

There will be some cars on display, one of those is the #2, this car is owned by Kane Fritzle and it is reported to be running some fun laps too so look out for this beautiful specimen of Stock Car.

Weather looks good for Saturday, a bit of wind around on the day but it is going to be a wet and windy day on Sunday with winds up to 50km/h not counting gusts.

A good weekend should be had by competitors and spectators alike, we’ll be back next week with a recap of all the action at the track.
