Last weekend had been a special weekend for ASCN for a couple of reasons.

The first reason was that Zac told me that ASCN stickers were printed up and ready for Winton, this was a surprise as I thought that they would likely be used at Calder Park.

Every vehicle in Stock Cars Australia that was at Winton now carries an ASCN sticker, in the above example it is above the Hi-Tec sticker.

Another example is the Lukas Gates’ SCA AUSCAR, it is right above the CooperTools sticker, which is pretty neat, you’ll also see that MotorsportArchives.com has a sticker on the cars too.

Last example, the Richard White Racing #3 Lumina driven by Jake Frisch, there’s a feeling of great pride seeing the sticker probably to the point of getting watery.

While watching the racing on YouTube, the family was watching closely to see if we could spot the sticker on each car.

The second reason is that we broke our website record on the weekend, it is fitting it happened the weekend of a Stock Cars Australia round, last year we achieved 5,842 views over the course of the year, we are now at 5,991 views.

With Calder Park and One Raceway to come, car histories to write and more, the final total for the year could end up anywhere, it may even get to 10,000 and then we got to do it all again next year.

If somebody told me at the start of 2015 that I would create a website, make gains almost every year, end up going to two Stock Cars Australia events, fire up a Ford Thunderbird, be taken around the Thunderdome in the #7 AUSCAR, spend hundreds of hours researching car history and going through hundreds of comments to sort out truth and misremembered details and have stickers made based on my creation, I would have laughed and told them I wish that could happen.

If you believe that you can do something, you got to stay the course no matter how slow the going is or how many setbacks you encounter while trying to move forwards, we live in a world where quickness is demanded but the reality is some things take time to come to fruition and it is worth it in the end.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers started NFL life by being winless in 1976, they were 0-14 in 1977 before winning the last two games to be 2-14, then were 5-9 in 1978 and then in 1979 they were 10-6 won their division and were a win away from the Super Bowl, they got that far because they stayed the course, they had a plan in 1976 and stuck with it despite losing their first 26 regular season games.

Now the Buccaneers have two Super Bowl titles, twelve teams have none and another five have one, people would have laughed if you said that in 1976.

ASCN had a very basic beginning as World of AUSCAR, it got the wrong kind of attention from a guy at Auto Action after a basic section about Brad Jones was posted and I could have chucked it all in when I got that comment, but I was determined to keep going and we’re still here.

Things are going to be bigger and better for us in the Australian Stock Car scene, we just have to keep working on things, keep saving money, keep asking for help when it is needed, keep learning about new things and just keep on going.

Thank you to all of you, you’ve given me a wonderful life.
