Last week the Stock Cars Australia field was at Queensland Raceway preparing for the second round of the Australian Stock Car Championship.

It was a largely successful weekend for the category, the racing was good, attrition was low, and the weather was good, the two downsides were Zac being ill and George Kulig’s Monte Carlo was out with an electrical water pump issue after two good races.

Check out our round recap and pictures from the round, there’s plenty to see and read.

While the action was happening in Queensland, the Richard White Racing team were at home preparing their two cars for the upcoming round at Winton.

The early history of the #3 RWR Lumina is still an unsolved mystery, we’re looking for any pictures of the white #55 Oldsmobile of George Elliot to see if it is the #3, hopefully somebody out there who worked for George remembers a light pink chassis, it had to be pretty uncommon and therefore memorable.

The #8 Monte Carlo is no closer to being positively identified, Ultimate Racing History indicates that Joe Bessey used some 10 or more cars, so it is hard to know exactly which one Richard has in terms of use.

Drivers can now enter the upcoming rounds at Winton and Calder Park Raceway, just go to this link and go on down to Enter Round 3 and Enter Round 4.

Have you been to the Calder Park website recently? Check out the events section because it has Scott Nind’s Mustang and Brad Hall’s Commodore on it then go to ‘Visitor Information‘ and you’ll see several OzTrucks and the #6 Ford Falcon and lastly ‘Facilities‘ has more SCA goodness, makes the website all nice, modern and spectacular.

While we had a week off last week to cover the action at QR, Jake Frisch officially became the owner of his Pontiac, it is a roller so there is a lot of work to be done on the car but hopefully in 2025 we will get to see the car in action.

There’s a couple of Pontiacs in the pipeline, Phil Muffet has a Pontiac, Adam Blattman has the #3 Pontiac, Jake has his and Zac has the #19 that Mark Harrison drove in V8 Stock Cars, and it would be driven by somebody else.

If they all come to SCA and join Scott, Zac, Laurence and Mick as regulars the Stock Car field would be pretty sizable especially at rounds like Calder Park that brings almost everybody to the track.

Richard White has a third car that will take some time to get back into shape, it is the ex-Max Dumesny #5 and Barry Blake #7 car that was left untouched since the end of the V8 Stock Cars era.

Troy Perichon is leading the ex-AUSCAR charge, there’s a growing number of cars in range of his expertise so expect the numbers to grow from the Troy, Lukas and Jamey trio for example there is the #26 Commodore and the #61 Commodore coming soon and the #66 is expected to appear at Calder Park this year.

Speaking of AUSCAR, the #47 Ford Falcon has reappeared on AUSCAR Racing, it is a little dusty, but it is still its usual Ford self.

If you’re looking for a car, give Stock Cars Australia a message and they’ll work with you to find a car, it could be a Stock Car, AUSCAR, Sportsman, GTA, OzTruck (all are currently owned) or ex-Truck Series.

Don’t forget that you can always buy a car from the USA, just got to keep in mind the currency conversion which adds a third to the price and transport and there is the risk of sight unseen.

The #53 Camaro that raced in two SCA rounds was up for auction last week, it did not meet its reserve price.

That’s the news for this week, another good week in the Australian Stock Car world.
