There are 49 days to go until Stock Cars Australia races in Queensland at Queensland Raceway.

We do have some news for you this week and that is that it looks like that George Kulig will be racing with SCA at QR, George won a SCA race in February 2022 at Sydney Motorsport Park, so it is good to see a race winner back in the series.

Work on improving the website continued this week, all the Stock Cars Australia information for season 2024 is under one category up the top, and we have ‘Cars and Series History’ too so all the car history pieces etc. are there.

If you’re on a phone, you tap on the two lines underneath ‘Aussie Stock Car News’ and a menu will pop up, computer and tablet users just tap on the two titles and a menu will drop down.

Nothing new to report on the car history tracing front, we do have people looking at what they have regarding the origins of the #3 and the #8 while the #25 Truck that Jeremy Gunson has is still a head scratcher, but time will be devoted to trying to find out more about the Dodge that turned into a Chevrolet and was updated a couple of times.

While we know the #8 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was the #60 in Winston Cup competition, the team had cars prepared for use on different tracks and so it can be one of the many cars that Joe Bessey Motorsports had, it could possibility be the chassis dubbed Martinsville 99-2.

Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to uncover history of the #27 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, build sheets at Laughlin weren’t in fashion until 1996 and snout number records weren’t regularly kept.

Looking back at the action at SMP last month, Brett Mitchell needs to make a new poster, the new colours of the #8 would look great up on a wall.

Don’t forget the idea about making photo prints of the cars, trucks etc., if a 6×4 inch (15x10cm) photo can be made for as little as 15 cents apiece, they could sell for a dollar and get as much as 85 cents profit apiece and throw in an autograph or they are given for free and there be a lot of happy people, something to think about.

That’s all for this edition of Aussie Stock Car News, there isn’t a whole lot of news this week but hopefully we’ll have a full of news edition for you next week.
