With a Chevrolet Monte Carlo and a Chevrolet Lumina ready to race plus another Monte Carlo being restored, Richard White Racing is one of the largest all Stock Car teams in Stock Cars Australia.

Last weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park, the team was able to put both active cars on the track for the first time and it was the first time in years that Stock Cars Australia had two Stock Cars from the same team participating in a race.

The RWR team is working hard on the #8

Team owner Richard White who started his Stock Cars Australia career in the #3 Lumina, shifted to the #8 Monte Carlo for last August’s round at Calder Park Raceway while the #3 was going to be in another driver’s hands, an engine issue just weeks before the Calder Park round delayed the #3 Lumina from joining the #8 on track and it served as a display car in front of the SCA garages.

Jake Frisch ready to get into the thick of the action

The #3 Lumina was repaired in time for the 2024 season opener at Sydney Motorsport Park and Jake Frisch was selected to drive the car that we call Frankenstein’s Monster as it has bit of almost every General Motors brand in the bodywork and windows.

Richard had finishes of fourth place in all the three races that he was able to participate in while Jake Frisch had finishes of eighth, sixth, fifth and fourth to deliver the team a combined total of five Top 5 finishes from seven attempts.

A vibration issue stopped the #8 from racing in the final race of the weekend, it was a smart decision to park it particularly as a worsening problem could knock a car out for months as there is a great amount of time and expense needed for the cars if they have a mechanical failure.

The round was also special for another reason, it was the debut of the RWR Transporter, it is the big giant one in the above picture and it is probably a sight that hasn’t been seen since 2002 when it comes to Stock Car racing in Australia.

There are plans for the transporter, the inside needs blasting and painting done and the outside needs a touch up, stickers are planned for the outside next year, we’ll be watching with interest.

There’s a lot more action to come from Richard White Racing and who knows maybe the #5 Chevrolet Monte Carlo will join in the fun a year or so into the future and RWR becomes the first three-car all Stock Car team in Stock Car Australia’s long history.
