14 days to go until the 2024 season gets underway at Sydney Motorsport Park.

We have one new entry for the week and that is Jamey Hollier in the EF Falcon AUSCAR, Jamey is the eleventh entry for the round.

Jamey raced in Sportsman and AUSCAR, he was fastest qualifier in Sportsman six times, five at the Thunderdome and one at Calder Park Raceway.

He won five Sportsman championship races and five Sportsman non-championship races putting him among great company like Darren McDonald, Graeme Gilliland, Matthew White, Con Vereker, Mark Vereker, Eddie Abelnica, Tony Malley, Andrew Gillespie, Wayne Smith and Shane Houlahan as multi-race winners.

Assuming our math is correct, if you combine championship and non-championship win then Jamey has more wins than anybody else in the category.

There is a possibility that in the near future that Jamey will be racing against his old AUSCAR as Cole Davis is currently restoring that one for competition.

You can check out all the facts about Sportsman pole winners and race winners on this archived site.

Meanwhile the head banging against the wall continues trying to nail down the history of the #3 Lumina, it seems the closer we get to finding out its origins, the potential car gets ruled out, but we are still working on it.

We did find out one thing, George Elliot brought the Oldsmobile that was driven by Johnny Rutherford in the December 1988 race.

Somebody out there must recognise the light pink that is right through the interior of the car and on all the parts.

Lastly, I got NASCAR 08 in the mail today for my PS3, it is attached to a basic steering wheel and peddles in an old Sega arcade game shell with a decent TV for a screen, hopefully the steering wheel works on the game so I can crash and bash my way around on weekends.

I’m actually not too bad at Daytona USA on the PS3, figured out that for the last corner drop the speed down to 270 where the inside fence runs out and slide the car through the corner and straighten it up for a good run though I can’t do it twenty times in a row.

That’s it for this week, another great week in the world of Australian Stock Car racing, it is always great to be here.
