21 days to go until the 2024 season kicks off at Sydney Motorsport Park, we now have ten entries in as Paul Hourigan and Richard White have put their entries in plus Richard has chosen the driver to drive the #3 Lumina.
SMP will be the first time that Richard will be racing there and the first time the #3 and the #8 (running as #08 as Brett Mitchell has the number 8) will be running together.

This week has been spent trying to help Jeremy Gunson out with the mystery of his Truck, the truck has the chassis number H.P.-1492 and started off as a Dodge in 2001 and was turned into a Chevrolet sometime later.
The search for answers has not been easy, its journey may have started in North Carolina and was then picked up by people in Texas who tried to get a team going but was unsuccessful and it went through a series of owners until ending up in Jeremy’s hands.
Stay tuned as more details are uncovered about the #25 Truck.
Work on the history of the #77 Ford Falcon continues on, Jamey Hollier has helped fill in some history and now the search is on for any AUSCAR records from either 1990/91 or 1991/92 to 1995/96 so we can write down the finishes the car had since it came along, we believe at Gold Coast 1992.
Cam Waters is going to race in the Truck series next weekend at Martinsville, this will bring even more Australian interest in Stock Cars, we’ve already noticed the increase in NASCAR related news and history recounting in V8 Sleuth (should really be V8 Sleuths) since SVG from across the ditch started plying his trade in America.
We’re almost at 1,500 site visits for the year, since we’re about to hit the quarter way mark of the year, we are on target for just short of 6,000 site visits in the year which would be a new yearly record for the site.
A lot of thought has gone into the type of car or truck one would like to buy, should a person try and snag a car from Australia (Stock Car, Truck or AUSCAR) or try and get one from overseas, overseas supply is plentiful, but currency conversion and shipping is painful.
One of the biggest hurdles we face is spare parts, while we got plenty of cars around, filling those cars with parts has been a problem, they are costly, and it takes people ages to have enough in the kitty to buy what they need if something important fails or they need a part to go further.
If every Stock Car owner in Australia that has raced in or has expressed interest in Stock Cars Australia was able to race, we’d have 17 cars on the grid and that does not count OzTruck, AUSCAR, Muscle Division, GTA or Trucks, those numbers would push the total closer to 30.
Work together, tell people what is going on with your vehicle, what you need, what questions you have, let’s make hopes and aims (I don’t say dreams because they are usually short and sweet) reality for people today, tomorrow and into the future.
See you next week.
