28 days to go sports fans until Round 1 kicks off at Sydney Motorsport Park, it is good to be under one month to go.
We have a sixth entry for the round, it is Brendon Hourigan in the #51 Chevrolet Silverado, the #51 is sponsored by Damesa Industries, NV Panel & Paint, Taylors Bungendore and Royal Hotel Bungendore.
The Thunderdome will be getting used tomorrow though it appears that low numbers may make visits to the Thunderdome an unviable option, hopefully they’ll get some interest happening today to keep things going.
A lot of cars made noise at Adelaide last week including two cars that have graced Stock Cars Australia competition, Paul Zemunik in the #8 Monte Carlo and Stephen Dale in the #88 Chevy SS, both of them competed at Calder Park last year and their fun at Adelaide was shot by MotorsportArchives.com.
You’ll also see a third Stock Car there as well (the #9), last year Adelaide had the #33 in action as well as the #9, it would be nice if we see the #8, #9, #33 and #88 at an SCA event this year even if for display purposes.
The weather is miserable on the Fraser Coast today, frequent rain showers have forced everybody to stay inside but that just means more time to talk about Stock Cars.

Work has continued on getting the history down on the #77 Ford Falcon, while we’ve found most of the results for the car in the 1997/98 AUSCAR season, there is little information on results for when it was the #38 and when it was the #15.
One of my greatest frustrations is not having the financial resources to be more useful to Stock Cars Australia, there’s only so much one can do on the DSP but while discussing the #77 with Cole Davis, thoughts about owning an AUSCAR roller entered the mind once again and I figure that it is possible for me to own one before the year is out.
Based on the last couple of years, rollers been going for anywhere between $1,500 and $3000, add $1000 or $1500 for freight to the Fraser Coast, find a road going version of the same car, take bits from it and we’ll have a car to get people’s curiosity on the Fraser Coast and we can upgrade the bits when finances allow it should it be needed for any racing action, now I’m about halfway there so I’ve got to be lazy with my spending for the rest of this year (must say no to online shopping) and also keep $2000 aside for QR and Calder Park and it should be reachable.
Meanwhile research on the #3 Lumina has revealed that it was a George Elliot car before it was given to Brad Jones, we are no closer to finding out why the car has the gold like yellow as well as the white and pink paint thanks to the distance of time, it may have served as a NASTRAK car, though there is a picture of a white Elliot car going for a spin, it seems the more we seem to get closer to solving the riddle, the deeper the rabbit hole gets.
That’s it for this week, plenty of material this week and hopefully it was all enjoyed.
See you next week.
