There are 35 days to go before the 2024 action starts at Sydney Motorsport Park and there is good news, entries are now open.

Danny Burgess, Brett Mitchell, Scott Nind, Laurence Mckinnon and Robert Marchese are the first five entrants for the round, that makes three OzTrucks, one Stock Car and one Muscle Division car.

Scott Nind is taking the #16 Ford Mustang (ex-Xfinity car) to SMP, spectators will love that having seen the #34 ex-Cup car in action the previous time around.

There’s plenty of time to enter and hopefully we’ll see many competitors make the trek to SMP for two days of enjoyment, entries can be made on this link.

This week has been spent going through a box of AUSCAR, Formula Falcon and Sportsman photos, there was one particular photo of interest and that is the one above, it is a familiar car to Stock Cars Australia drivers and fans.

The AUSCAR Drivers list photos have been updated with pictures added or replaced for around a dozen cars.

The Aussie Stock Car News YouTube channel has been re-established after a goof up wiped it, was meant to take off one channel in my collection of channels and accidentally taken them all down.

Searching for this car

We still haven’t been able to solve the history mystery of what is now the #3 Lumina but while writing this up, I was looking through the 1994/95 Media Guide for a Mick Webb AUSCAR picture for the AUSCAR list when a few pages later I saw a Ron Goodman advertisement for Thunderdome laps, so I put ‘Ron Goodman NASCAR’ in Google and saw on eBay a guy in America is selling a Ron Goodman poster, what was interesting about it? Pink at top, white at bottom and it is an Oldsmobile.

So now we got to wait for somebody who was around Ron Goodman or Ron himself to tell us what happened to that Oldsmobile.

There is never a dull moment in the Australian Stock Car world, from tracing car histories to writing it down to seeing what people need and checking the entry lists to seeing who is going to be joining the fun in Stock Cars Australia.

See you all next week.
