Welcome to the twentieth edition of Aussie Stock Car News.

We have 22 days to go before our 2023 season starts its final act at Winton Raceway, unfortunately we don’t have an online entry list to look at so let us know if you are racing.

Don’t forget drivers that you can put your entry in from this link, lets end this wonderful season on a great note with plenty of competitors and a great time, begin the festive month the loud and fast way.

Earlier this week photos of a #47 Chevrolet Lumina were posted on NASCAR Australia with the car’s history unknown, the post disappeared while this was being written up leaving a mystery that may never be solved, it is suspected that the #47 was perhaps a rebodied car or was a car that was renumbered post Thunderdome era.

The #02 Sportsman that was formerly driven by Tony Howlett was brought to Calder Park by Brad Hall last week where it ran some laps on a beautiful day, word about the #02 came out on August 31 with the car looking in great but dusty condition, now it is a fully operational car.

Mick Heppleston’s post earlier this week on ‘Tassie Speedway Memories’ got plenty of attention with over 250 likes as he shown the beautiful #41 Ford Thunderbird that was formerly owned by Tasmanian Gene Cook and is now owned and operated by Mick.

The #41 will be out of action in the season finale after gearbox trouble struck at Calder Park but Mick won’t be out of action as the #48 FJ Holden will be at Winton.

Currently we have histories on the #3 Chevrolet Lumina, #3 Pontiac Grand Prix, #5 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, #25 Ford Thunderbird, #77 Ford Falcon and #19 Pontiac Grand Prix in various stages of completion, hopefully some will be complete by the start of next season.

Thank you for taking the time to read the latest going happenings in the Australian Stock Car world.

Fast Fact: Rusty French is the only person to win a V8 Stock Cars race and a Stock Cars Australia race.
