Welcome to the first November edition of Aussie Stock Car News, sorry for no edition last week, there was nothing to report but there is this week.

The big news this edition is that entries for Winton are open, it is the season finale and what a season we’ve had, Scott Nind will be our champion for 2023 as Scott has dominated proceedings winning all but one race so far, you got to admire a fella who buys a former Xfinity Series and a former Cup car and races them in Australia, it is a big risk, but it has paid off.

A field close to the size of the Calder Park round is expected at Winton, which is great news for spectators as we really do have great looking Stock Cars, OzTrucks, AUSCARs and Muscle Division vehicles on offer.

Some may be a little disappointed that the last round won’t be at Calder Park but sharing the bill with the HQ Holdens at Winton has its advantages, one such advantage is that there is plenty of space instead of a jam packed TA2 focused bill.

So, what you do to enter is go here and away you go, most competitors will be familiar with the site so entry should be easy.

Speaking of Calder Park, the rail crossing near the track is getting an overhaul with the crossing being removed and replaced by a bridge so cars can go over the top of the rail line instead of being parked there for ages if a train is coming.

Drive Events Pty Ltd is offering people the opportunity to have a run on the Thunderdome on Friday November 10 and the Thunderdome/Circuit mix on Sunday November 12 so if you’re close by and you have got nothing to do, this may solve that problem.

NASCAR 21: Ignition got too frustrating so I brought ‘Draftycar’ on Steam for $11 and it is a fairly simple game, you race in a straight line and you got to stay in the draft before getting into the lead and winning, I may have found a shortcut to winning and that is that you follow the #57 for the majority of the run before pulling out and getting another car to be your drafting partner and win.

We’ve passed 5000 website views, to accomplish it before the month of October was over was something really special and it is humbling to have such success this year and who knows where we’ll end up when the year ends.

Thank you for taking the time to read the latest going happenings in the Australian Stock Car world.

Fast Fact: Before Supercars had their races on the Gold Coast last weekend, the Stock Cars and Supercars had opposite results, Ford had won all but one race in Stock Cars and Chevrolet had won all but one race in Supercars.
