We are two weeks away from the action taking place at Sydney Motorsport Park, when this round comes it will be two months between rounds and it doesn’t feel like that at all.

Drivers have until midnight on October 10 to put their entries in, the entry total currently stands at eight.

The entries doubled from four to eight in a hurry as Danny Burgress was entry #5, Troy Perichon was entry #6, Josh Hourigan was entry #7 and John Angiolella became entry #8 in the BMW.

While Stock Cars Australia will be running at Sydney Motorsport Park, others will be taking to the Thunderdome with Drive Events and doing 4-5 lap runs on October 13, more details are available at the website, but the plan is for runs between 4pm and 5pm that day.

It is great that the Thunderdome is seeing more use this year than in previous years, it is true that it is highly unlikely that it will see competition again, but we can always hope for exhibitions like the ones in August taking place over future years to give people just a little taste of Stock Cars running on the Thunderdome, it is a beautiful sight.

Speaking of Calder Park, you can now watch all the Calder Park Race 1, 2 and 4 action in one go thanks to MotorsportArchives.com, the camera is so good you can even see me standing on the hill in the Race 1 footage and the shots of the vehicles are magnificent, a great advertisement for the category.

The search continues for a buyer to scoop up the Pontiac Grand Prix roller that Zac has for sale, it will need a lot of work but the thought of a Pontiac Grand Prix being restored to run is very tantalising.

Now for a public service reminder, all competitors and travelling spectators will have to do their referendum voting early as the round at SMP takes place at the same time, the options are voting early or getting a postal vote.

Thank you for taking the time to read the latest going happenings in the Australian Stock Car world.

Fast Fact: The #25 of Laurie Mckinnon raced at Calder Park with a donor engine, there was no way that the #25 was going to miss out on the action.
