The points system changed in 1990/91 to be in line with NASCAR, the old system was 50, 49, 48 etc. plus bonuses and the new system was 175, 170, 165 etc. plus bonuses.
51 drivers tried their hand at AUSCAR in 1990/91 with Brad Jones winning the championship quite easily over perhaps AUSCAR’s unluckiest driver Greg East.
