Laurence Mckinnon drives the #82 XE Falcon in the Muscle Division class of the Australian Stock Car Championship but Laurence will be driving something different in 2023.
Laurence’s ride in 2023 is a Ford Thunderbird and this one has some great history to go with it.
It was originally Terry Wyhoon’s and it became Ford’s best hope against Kim Jane’s all conquering #27 Chevrolet before it was moved on to Dick Howe who had two victories in V8 Stock Cars (Ford’s last between 1988 and 2002).
The car later ended up in Western Australia before it was brought by Laurence and it was sent back over to the east side of the country where it will be readied for 2023 action.
This car is the second Ford Thunderbird in the Australian Stock Car Championship with Mick Heppleston’s #41 being the first when it debuted earlier this year.
