Something in the air

February 21 2019

There’s something in the air at the moment Australian NASCAR (and AUSCAR) fans.

A few months ago we saw the DJRTP drivers take Joey Logano’s former Ford Fusion around the Gold Coast track and now Marcos Ambrose will be driving a Mustang around Adelaide for fun next week.

There were writeups about the first Calder Park race from 1988 late last year and then there was one about Brad Jones AUSCAR title winning Commodore.

Then we finally gotten to see a Power Tour race on YouTube, the last good look fans got at the racing was in a Tony Southwell Racing video.

As you’ve seen, the competition between Andrew Miedecke, Tony Southwell and Dick Howe was great viewing.

Stock Cars Australia’s Round 1 saw the debut of two OzTrucks plus a VT Commodore bodied NASCAR and the field for Round 2 is expected to be bigger.

Lastly we have a little snippet of footage of AUSCAR qualifying at Adelaide International Raceway.

It’s Great!
