This page is aimed to build up a list of AUSCAR drivers, this list will be improved over time so please be patient.
Photos have come from either race programs, media guides, photography websites, images from YouTube videos and AUSCAR/NASCAR groups on Facebook.
Some names may be spelled incorrectly as the record books and TV broadcasts are known to contain spelling errors.
Some of the photos of cars have been supplied by Sara Thompson.

I guy i used to pit for, Geoff Newton also did Auscar. We converted his VK Grp E car into an Auscar. I just cant remember much detail because it was so long ago. In Group E we had SYNECO sponsorship. The VK was white with yellow and green stripes. I cant remember if we still had them for Auscar.

Hello KRS!
I am working on a deep-dive video on AUSCAR, how it came to be, where it went and the legacy of its cars today.
Please shoot me an email @ marzzkronik@live.com.au to see if we can line up a call, I’d love to get as much media as possible on where the drivers/cars are today and what they look like.

Your best bet is to go to the AUSCAR Racing group on Facebook
https://www.facebook.com/groups/168073596545585
You’ll find a couple of drivers there and other information as well.
You’ll find some of the cars are still being raced or in the process of restoration and you’ll find out more at Stock Cars Australia.

Hi I bought Tony Castlemaine’s vl auscar back in 2013.
It’s an 05 .
I would like to know more history of the car.
Apparently Tony had a body repair shop in Vic but has passed some years ago.
Great work on the research.

Tony raced in at least in the 1991-92 season, finished 35th in points and received $3,500 in prize money.
If you got Facebook, I would recommend if you haven’t already that you search for and join the AUSCAR Racing group, there’s nice, informative people there and a couple of them own an AUSCAR like yourself (2 of them are racing at Winton this weekend).

Thanks for your reply, I will follow up on your suggestions and hopefully fill in the history of the racecar some more. Great work. Cheers Rob.
