John Faulkner raced for his own AUSCAR and NASCAR team (John Faulkner Racing) in the early to late 1990’s and achieved great success with wins in AUSCAR.

John’s car was one of the most recognizable in AUSCAR with Betta Electrical sponsorship, his Stock Cars were sponsored by Nulon, Cummins and Tec Oils sponsorship along with other sponsors.

John won 10 AUSCAR races between 1992 and 1996 and was the fastest qualifier four times in Stock Cars.

From the 1993/94 Australian NASCAR season he had two Oldsmobiles, his first car was the ex-Sunoco car that was used for tracks like the Gold Coast and the second car he obtained from Ian Thomas at Tropic Coast Racing and that served as his Thunderdome car.

He planned on buying Fords off Roush Racing for the 1995/96 season before the team switched to getting the Chevrolet Monte Carlo and the Monte Carlo purchases replaced the two Oldsmobiles.

On track clashes with Brad Jones and questionable decisions by officials angered sponsors who threatened to pull JFR out of Stock Cars in the 1995/96 season, but they cooled down after a few days and kept going.

John moved on to V8 Supercars and sold three Stock Cars to Eddie Abelnica, two were Oldsmobile and one was a Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Eddie Abelnica was also the buyer of a John Faulkner Racing AUSCAR, other buyers were Matthew White and Darren McDonald while Jason Wyllie leased a car from JFR.

Despite being in V8 Supercars, John retained links to AUSCAR and Australian NASCAR, he was a guest driver of the #34 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, but his run ended early with mechanical issues.

Eddie Ivermee purchased the second JFR Oldsmobile in November 2024 with the aim of getting it into Stock Cars Australia competition in 2025.
